At PS 321 staff and parents work with School Food Management to make sure fresh fruits, vegetables and other healthy options are offered in our cafeteria. To sign up for school lunch today visit www.myschoolbucks.com account (previously www.mylunchmoney.com) to open an account and fund it with a credit card.
This year, we have 3 lunch periods to accommodate all students. Students in fourth and fifth grades may “go out to lunch” on select days (see below) with written parental permission. Out to Lunch starts during the second week of school.
|4||11:05||11:55||1st & 2nd Grade Lunch & Recess|
|5||12:00||12:50||3rd & 4th Grade Lunch & Recess. 4th Grade “Out to Lunch” Days: Tuesday, Thursday|
|6||12:55||1:45||Kindergarten & 5th Grade Lunch & Recess. 5th Grade “Out to Lunch” Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday|
*On half days when dismissal is at 11:50, only children who get school lunch go to the lunchroom and then return to their classroom.
If your child forgets lunch, you may bring it to the main office (labeled with name and class number). Also, under the Point-of-Service lunchroom system, all children may be served lunch, and families will be billed for it.
BREAKFAST & LUNCH NOTES
Did you know our cafeteria offers a free, healthy breakfast to ALL students? Just have your child come between 8:00 – 8:15 am to allow time to eat and get to class. Curious about what’s being served for school lunch? The monthly menu is always viewable through the homepage of our website — go to the color bars on the right side and select “lunch menu.”
LUNCH VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED
K-3 parents are needed to provide support to lunchroom teachers in the sometimes hectic lunchroom and playground environments. Please reach out to Catherine Douglass to volunteer.
PS 321 uses a 4-bin recycling system. Click here for our recycling guide.
GRAB & GO LUNCH
The PS 321 cafeteria is now introducing Grab-and-Go lunch bags! 4th and 5th graders, who go out to lunch, can just stop by the cafeteria, get a Grab-and-Go bag that includes a PB&J- or cheese sandwich, carrot sticks and fruit, and go mingle with their friends outside – for the cost of $1.75. Available to anyone with a www.myschoolbucks.com account (previously www.mylunchmoney.com).
To see a list of restaurants that offer 321 students special deals, and for ideas of healthier lunch options in the neighborhood, please visit Out to lunch: Healthy Options and Student Deals.
Menus are posted in the cafeteria, and available in the rack outside the Parent Center. See the current menu at www.schoolfoodnyc.org, ours is K-8 Alternative Lunch Menu.
