JOIN US AS PS 321 TEACHERS, PARENTS, AND ADMINISTRATORS RALLY TOGETHER IN FRONT OF OUR SCHOOL TO SHOW OUR SUPPORT FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION.
This rally is part of a citywide “Protect Our Schools” event co-sponsored by the UFT, Class Size Matters, NYS Allies for Public Education and the Alliance for Quality Education. Around the city, school communities will be joining hands to symbolically protect our schools from the harmful effects of Governor Cuomo’s education proposals.
As explained in the PS 321 Teachers’ Letter to Families, these proposals include basing 50% of a teacher’s evaluation on state test scores; 35% on one observation by an outside evaluator; and only 15% on the multiple observations by the principal and assistant principals.
We are also speaking out against the way in which New York City schools have been financially shortchanged by the state and the way that the new proposals would divert more money from the classroom.
We hope you will join us on THURSDAY, MARCH 12, FROM 8:10-8:25 AM. If you and your children want to make posters for the rally, come to room 322 on Tuesday, March 10 at 3:00 pm.
