Ted Lewin will kick off this year’s Meet the Writers series with a visit to see our third graders on Friday, October 9, 2015. An avid traveler, many of Lewin’s books are inspired by trips to such places as the Amazon River, the Sahara Desert, Botswana, Eqypt, Lapland and India. Titles include Gorilla Walk, Animals Work, What am I? Where am I?, Puffling Patrol and Can You See Me? Winner of a Caldecott Honor and awards from the Society of Illustrators, Ted lives in Brooklyn with his wife and frequent collaborator, illustrator Betsy Lewin. Ted and Betsy’s most recent collaboration (published in 2015) is How to Babysit a Leopard: And Other True Stories from Our Travels Across Six Continents.
