Green & Healthy Night — Good, Clean Fun at School This Thursday!

January 25, 2017 By Meredith Mendelsohn

bag graphicJoin us at school on Thursday, January 26th, from 6:30 to 8pm for the highly anticipated Green & Healthy Night. This year’s event is chock-full of fun activities to get kids—and parents!—tasting healthy foods, moving their bodies, and discovering how easy it is to be greener and healthier! Here’s what we have planned:
– Zumba with Laurie Basloe, 5th Grade teacher
– Yoga with Bend & Bloom
– “Show us your Green and Healthy” photo booth with photographer and 321 parent Marc Goldberg
– Recycled crafting with Private Picassos
– Jewelry making—from old t-shirts!—with parent Jennifer Brown
– Composting (with worms and without!) with growNYC
– Regrowing food with the Garden Committee, parents Amy Crews, Kirsty Carroll and Kayoko Baba
– Stone Soup from 3rd Graders with science teacher Jacqi McGarry, Homemade crackers by 4th Graders and Applesauce by 5th Graders with parent Vigdís Jóhannsdóttir
– Heathy noshes from Miriam Restaurant and School Foods
– Make your own trail mix with parent Stacey Cappobianco
– Guess the sugar! with parent Lisa Leighton
– Recycling toss and test your grown-up with parent Kevin McPhee
– Karate with Amerikick
– Obstacle Course with gym teachers Victor and Gloria
– Dance party with parent Ruthie Kinch
-Purchase an adorable reusable bag made from 100% recycled plastic! $5 each or 5 for $20

Want to help us make sure the night is awesome? Just 50 minutes of your time will make a huge difference. Take your pick of activities if you choose a slot early! Sign up here (http://signup.com/go/mQkcJQ) to volunteer.
