In celebration of Black History Month, the PS 321 Diversity Committee invites you and your child to collaborate on this year’s Quilt of Heroes. Honoring the many champions of African-American history, civil rights, and social justice, the quilt focuses on scientists and inventors this year. It’s easy to participate:
1) Choose to learn about a specific scientist and inventor who is a champion of black history, social justice, and/or civil rights. Click here for a list of suggestions.
2) Every child will receive a square their red homework folder. Decorate the square with the hero’s name and artwork inspired by his or her accomplishments.
3) Submit your completed square to your teacher or to the box in the main office by February 27, 2018.
We can’t wait to see what your child creates!
