The PS321 garden has been growing! Stop by Plantville and have a look!. Students from all grades have planted beans, pumpkins, radishes, lettuce, kale, chard, carrots and herbs. It has been so exciting to see all the seedlings popping up!!
There are LOTS of garden opportunities and ideas in the works… setting up an indoor planting area (hydroponics?) inside the school, starting a native plants garden, composting , setting up the rain barrel, indoor sprouting, an expanded wall garden within the school garden, etc . This is a great time to get involved in the garden from the planning stage on to project completion. Please contact Vicki, Yvonne or Christina of the garden committee directly at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can give regular time to the garden projects at PS321 and would like to find out more.
Meanwhile there are some garden volunteer spots at some events coming up soon:
SATURDAY OCTOBER 19
Please sign up to help out selling plants and running a kids craft table at the MURAL PAINTING PARTY this weekend:

Last but not least, a favorite PS321 event is coming up…HARVEST DAY. This occurs over two days. On Monday Dec 9 and Tuesday Dec 10 in the mornings the students harvest herbs and vegetables in the school garden and bring them to the school kitchen. Then on Tuesday Dec 10th we will be serving samples of salads and fruit provided by Garden to Cafe’s Chef George and Chef Holly in our school cafeteria. Sign up to help here:
If you can’t volunteer but are going to the MURAL PAINTING PARTY this Saturday stop by the plant table and say hello!
Looking forward to seeing you soon!
