D15 Regional Enrichment Centers

March 23, 2020 By Deb Orr

Beginning Monday, March 23, Regional Enrichment Centers are opening across every borough, with at least two sites in every school district.

District 15’s REC’s will be located at PS 130 and Bishop Ford Pre-K (K280).

Staffed by DOE employees and community-based organization partners, the centers will provide children with three daily hot meals, remote learning time with their teachers, activities like art, music, and physical education, and social and emotional support.

The DOE has been reaching out to other City agencies, unions, and partner organizations to help identify and contact families of first responders, health care workers, transit, grocery store and pharmacy employees, and other front-line workers who will need to send their children to the Regional Enrichment Centers.

If you are a front-line worker and think you might be eligible to send your child to a center near you, the DOE has made an enrollment form available. Please go to the DOE’s REC page, click on the “Enroll” button and complete the survey. FAQ’s and other are also available on the REC page.
