Ways to Help/Ways to Get Help

April 17, 2020 By Deb Orr

A PS 321 parent has set up a GoFundMe page, Food for the Frontline, to support our Brooklyn hospital workers. She asked us to get the word out. From her Food for the Frontline page:
“I’ve set up a gofundme to raise funds to feed the doctors, nurses and other staff who are working tirelessly everyday.  The funds will be used for all Brooklyn hospitals to help show our support to the Front Line as well as help support our local businesses.”

Operation Feed is also distributing restaurant meals to Brooklyn hospital staff, and has a weekly donation option.

A PS 39 parent has a GoFundMe page, raising money to buy meals for workers at NYP-Methodist Hospital from local Park Slope restaurants.

Food Pantries need your donations:

Center For Family Life – Sunset Park

Masbia Soup Kitchen – Flatbush, Boro Park, Queens

City Harvest

Met Council

PS 321 Families can access resources through the PS 321 Counseling Page in Google Classroom; log in to your child’s account and use code 46jpwqh.

NYC.gov has created a Help Now NYC page. There is a “Give Help” and “Get Help” section. If you want help, there are links to the Volunteer Coordination Task Force, organized by the city. If you need help, there is a list of resources for different Covid-19-related needs.

ThriveNYC has a new resource page produced by the Mayor’s office – “Mental Health Support While Staying Home.”
