Dear PS 321 Families,
I wanted to share with you the Chancellor’s latest update to families, which is below.
In addition, we wanted to reach out to families of students who have IEPs for related services. Last night, a preference survey was sent to these families from the DOE. You are given the option to select in person or remote service models for therapy (Speech, OT, PT, Guidance Counseling). This survey is in addition to the Learning Preferences Survey and is not for academic services such as SETSS or ICT. We would encourage you, whenever possible and appropriate, to select the remote option for related services, in order to maximize time in the classroom and reduce transitions across the building. With the current CDC Guidelines regarding masks and social distancing, it is unclear how in person services will look. We acknowledge, however, that for some students, tele-therapy was very challenging.
If you would like to discuss further, please contact AP Liz McCormack at Emccormack@schools.nyc.gov to set up a time to discuss.
I am also including here a LINK to a letter sent by the District 15 CEC (Community Education Council), supporting the District 15 Principals’ letter that I previously sent to you.
If you selected the hybrid/blended option, we will be contacting you at the end of the week to let you know your child’s cohort (and thus their in-school schedule). As always, thanks for your support.
Fondly,
Liz Phillips, Principal
