At this event, sponsored by the Parent Equity and Inclusion Committee of our PTA, Joe will discuss his opera, The Grey Land. Joseph C Phillips Jr is the founder and conductor of his chamber orchestra Numinous and an accomplished composer, recently featured in the New York Times (HERE and HERE) for his mono opera. The longest movement on the premiere recording makes an early textual reference to Barber’s “Knoxville: Summer of 1915” while dramatizing an expectant couple’s unease in the wake of the death of Michael Brown.”
