The 16th Annual PS 321 Food Drive to benefit CHiPS starts on Monday, February 1st and goes through Wednesday, February 10th. Here are 5 ways your family can help!
1.) Drop Food Donations in the Bins at Drop-Off and Pick-Up all week (2/1-5)
The biggest needs are for large plastic jars of peanut butter & jelly, canned tuna, soups, pasta, beans, fruit, veggies, sauce (boxed, canned or bagged – no glass jars), individually packed snacks (e.g., granola bars), boxes of minute rice, cereal, instant oatmeal, juice boxes for kids, and sandwich bags.
Please no baby food, expired items, perishables or products in glass.
2) Make sandwiches as a family to donate to CHiPS!
CHIPS also has requested individually-bagged sandwiches (PB&J, ham & cheese, turkey), which can be delivered directly to CHiPS. Please label all sandwiches “PB&J,” “Turkey,” “Ham & Cheese.”
Email admin@chipsonline.org to sign up for a drop-off slot.
3) Donate Directly on the CHIPS website.
Make a financial contribution at http://chipsonline.org/donate and please indicate “321 Food Drive” in the notes box.
If you can, consider donating all or part of the funds received through the P-EBT cards received this fall. Unfortunately, we cannot drop the card off with CHIPS directly, but you can still put the funds to good use!
4) Have Food From Your Local Grocer Delivered Directly to CHIPS.
Shop at your local grocery store for the non-perishables noted above and have the food delivered directly to CHIPS on Monday, Wednesday or Friday, to the attention of Janice Lebby between 9am – 3pm. Please note “321 Food Drive” with the delivery.
5) Volunteer to Help Sort and Drop Off Food.
We still have a few slots left for folks to volunteer to help us sort food and drive it over to CHIPS. You can sign up here.
