The DOE’s Summer Rising program is open to all students currently in grades K-5, running from July 6 – August 20, 2021. Families who sign up are enrolling their child for the full length of the program. The day consists of a morning academic program and an afternoon recreation program. The morning will be taught by DOE teachers (no 321 teachers that we know of at this time); the afternoon by staff from a CBO. The official hours of the program are 8am-6pm, which includes breakfast, lunch, and a snack. PS 321’s affiliated site for this program is PS 124, at 4th Avenue between 13th and 14th St., with Prospect Park YMCA as the CBO. We believe there will be school-to-school busing from PS 321 to PS 124, with the last bus leaving PS 124 at 3pm. Parents will have to make their own arrangements for any kids staying later.
To apply, go HERE.
We encourage you to apply soon, as demand will exceed available seats for this location. If you want to attend the program at PS 124, search for 15K124 in the program list. Children attending one of the schools affiliated with this location will have registration priority (PS 321, PS 124, PS 118, PS 295, PS 10). Parents do have the option to apply to any Summer Rising program, not just the one affiliated with your school. If you have trouble applying, contact Deb Orr.
