A Special Evening with Author/Illustrator Vashti Harrison

Harrison is the buzziest illustrator on the scene now, and her artwork has been praised by Chelsea Clinton, Reese Witherspoon, Ava DuVernay, Lupita Nyong’o, and more. Her work has been reviewed by The New York Times, Essence, Parents, The Washington Post, and she’s been on shows like “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” and PBS NewsHour’s “The Moment When.”

Vahsti Harrison, author and illustrator of the bestselling Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History and Little Dreamers: Visionary Women Around the World, is an artist, author and filmmaker with a passion for storytelling. She earned her MFA in Film/Video from CalArts and BA from the University of Virginia. Hair Love, which she illustrated, is now an Academy Award-winning film short ,and Sulwe and HairLove have received NAACP nominations.
