K-3 parents get to see their kids enjoying much-needed downtime, help make sure kids refuel for the afternoon, and provide support to lunchroom teachers in the sometimes hectic lunchroom and playground environments.
The Lunch Crunch – Volunteer!
Has your kid come home exhausted with a half eaten lunch?
Here is how you can help: Make sure kids refuel properly for the afternoon, and provide support in the lunchroom and playground environments. Sign up for a regular slot, or whenever you can fit it in. This is the best opportunity to see your kids in their natural environment!
- Lunchroom volunteer: Help kids open lunch contents, give them guidance in the lunchroom (especially kindergarteners), help pack up and gather belongings, assist in recycling/trash sorting, and smooth the transition to the next group of diners.
- Salad bar volunteer: Help kids get important nutrients by serving them from the salad bar.
- Recess volunteer: Help ensure that kindergarteners play safely in the front yard.
