REGISTERING AT PS 321
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION FOR FALL 2020
The online application period for Fall 2020 Kindergarten is now closed. All families who applied by the deadline will receive a kindergarten offer in April. Go to the DOE website’s Kindergarten page to learn more about Kindergarten Admissions and to view the 2020 Kindergarten Admissions Guide. Print copies of the guide are available in our Main Office or at a Family Welcome Center.
Our school tours for prospective parents were held on December 3rd and December 11th, 2019; there are no more dates scheduled for the 2019-2020 school year. We can not accommodate individual requests for tours, but prospective families are welcome to contact Deb Orr, the parent coordinator.
NEW ARRIVALS/GRADES 1 -5
For new families planning to enroll their children in Grades 1 – 5 for the 2020 – 2021 school year, we will post our Spring walk-in registration dates for new arrivals after the in-person Kindergarten registration process has finished. Please check the PS321 website for updates in early May. For families who arrive over the summer, our summer walk-in dates will be posted by the end of the current school year.
For families who are arriving in the 321 school zone and who wish to enroll their child for the current school year, please contact Parent Coordinator Deb Orr in advance of your move, and call our main office to schedule an appointment once you have arrived. Children can not be registered prior to a move; they must already be in residence at an address zoned for our school. We enroll all zoned students in grades 1 – 5; we do not have a waitlist for in-zone students in those grades.
In order to enroll, bring your child and the following documents:
Birth Certificate or Passport and your child’s immunization records.
Report card and IEP (if applicable)
Along with one copy of all of the above. We cannot register your child if any of these documents (2 proofs of address, proof of birthdate and immunizations) are missing.
(*At least one gas or electric utility bill must be presented. Alternate proofs of address can be a 2017 W-2 form, income tax returns, current water bill, co-op/condo papers, insurance, deed or mortgage statement.)
We do not offer Pre-K instruction.
To check the school zone for an address, please use the “Find a School” search tool on the home page on the Department of Education’s website: schools.nyc.gov.
