KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION FOR 2017-2018
If you have a child who will be in Kindergarten in September and received an acceptance letter to PS 321 from the DOE, please call the main office (718-499-2412) before March 27 to make an appointment to register your child. At the time of your appointment, please bring the following items:
· Original and copy of the child’s birth certificate or passport.
· Immunization records.
· Two proofs of address ( gas and electric utility bills).
· A self addressed stamped envelope that says, “Parent of” followed by your child’s first and last name.
Registration for new zoned students in grades 1-5 will take place in April and dates will be announced on our website.
NEW ARRIVALS/GRADES 1 -5
Newly arrived, zoned families of students in grades K – 5 who wish to enroll their child for the current school year should contact Parent Coordinator Deb Orr in advance of a move, and call the main office to schedule an appointment upon arrival. Children can not be registered prior to a move; they must already be in residence at an address zoned for our school.
For newly arrived, zoned families with children in Grades 1 – 5 who wish to enroll for the 2017-2018 school year, registration dates will be announced in the Spring of 2017, once all Kindergarten registrations have been processed. Families of children who will be entering Kindergarten in fall of 2017 and who missed the online registration deadline may come in for an appointment at that time as well. We will have additional registration dates through the summer and will be posting those by the end of the current school year.
In order to enroll, bring your child and the following documents:
Birth Certificate or Passport and your child’s immunization records.
Report card and IEP (if applicable)
Along with copies of the above. We cannot register your child if any of these documents (2 proofs of address, proof of birthdate and immunizations) are missing.
(*At least one gas or electric utility bill must be presented. Alternate proofs of address can be a 2016 W-2 form, income tax returns, current water bill, co-op/condo papers, insurance, deed or mortgage statement.)
Our 2017-2018 school tour dates will be announced in the Fall of 2017 and will coincide with the DOE’s online Kindergarten enrollment period. Tours start at 9:00 am and no pre-registration is required. We can not accommodate individual requests for tours, but prospective families are welcome to contact Deb Orr, the parent coordinator.
To check the school zone for an address, please use the “Find a School” search tool on the home page on the Department of Education’s website: schools.nyc.gov.
