REGISTERING AT PS 321
REGISTRATION FOR FALL 2021
Kindergarten Registration:
All NYC families with children born in 2017 may apply to Kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year. Families who applied online by the January 2022 deadline received their child’s Kindergarten Offer letter, viewable in the MySchools.nyc portal, on April 5, 2022.
If your child has received an offer to PS 321 for Kindergarten, please go to MySchools.nyc to accept or decline your child’s offer as soon as possible. The deadline to accept your child’s offer is May 6, 2022.
Kindergarten Registration will be conducted online this year. By April 11, families who have accepted their K offers will be invited to begin the registration process. Look for an email from Parent Coordinator Deb Orr, which will have a link to PS 321’s Family Information Form. Once that form is submitted, families will be asked to complete the DOE’s registration packet and will be given instructions on uploading required documents. Please do not send your child’s documents until asked to do so. Required documents are listed farther down this page.
K Families who are planning a move after the MySchools deadline are still eligible to apply for Kindergarten at their child’s zoned school, but will need to wait until after the school has completed registration for those who have already received an offer. Once you have moved to your new address, please update your address in MySchools in order to change your child’s waitlist position.
PS 321 held two virtual info sessions in December 2021. A recording of one of the sessions can be viewed HERE.
Please go to the DOE website’s Kindergarten page to learn more about Kindergarten Admissions and to download the 2022 NYC Public Schools Admissions Guide.
NEW ARRIVALS/GRADES 1 -5
Fall 2022 Registration for new students in Grades 1-5 won’t begin until late spring 2022, after Kindergarten Registration has been completed. When we are ready to register our incoming new students, we will post instructions on our website’s home page. Registration is now fully online, and we will continue enrolling our new arrivals over the summer break.
For newly arrived or returning families with children in Grades K – 5 who live in the 321 school zone and who wish to enroll for the current school year, please email Parent Coordinator Deb Orr (parentcoordinator@ps321.info) with your child’s full name, date of birth and your zoned address. She will send you a link to our Family Info Form to start the registration process. School forms and a link to upload the required documents (listed below) will be sent after that form is completed; please do not email your documents until you receive an invite to do so.
Children can not be registered prior to a move; they must currently be in residence at an address zoned for our school. We enroll all zoned students in grades 1 – 5; registration in these grades is not first-come, first served, and we do not have a waitlist for in-zone students in those grades. We can only enroll zoned students at this time. In order to register, families will be required to submit the documents listed below, along with their child’s latest report card (optional but recommended), and IEP (if applicable).
Documents for Registration, K – 5:
In order to enroll your child, you will need to upload:
2 proofs of address – Con Edison and National Grid utility bills preferred*.
Birth Certificate or Passport.
Your child’s full immunization records. Go HERE for a list of required immunizations. Go HERE to download the CH205 health form.
IEP (if applicable).
(*At least one gas or electric utility bill/welcome letter should be presented. Alternate proofs of address can be a W-2 or payroll receipt dated within the past 60 days, current property tax bill, current water bill, letter from a government agency dated within the past 60 days, co-op/condo papers, insurance, deed, signed lease or mortgage statement.)
For the registration process, we will have an online portal available for families to upload their documents and required forms (please don’t email them straight to us).
Contact Parent Coordinator Deb Orr at parentcoordinator@ps321.info with questions.
We do not offer Pre-K instruction.
