REGISTERING AT PS 321

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION FOR FALL 2020

All NYC families with children born in 2015 may apply to Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year. Families who applied online by the January 2020 deadline received their child’s Kindergarten Offer letter, viewable in the MySchools.nyc portal, on April 21st, 2020.

To accept or decline your child’s offer to attend Kindergarten at PS 321 this Fall, please update your status by clicking the appropriate response in MySchools.nyc. The deadline to accept your offer is June 30. Kindergarten registration will be completed online this year. Starting June 10, families that have accepted their K offer will be invited to begin the registration process. Look for an email from Parent Coordinator Deb Orr, which will have a link to our Family Information Form.  Once that form is submitted, families will be asked to complete the DOE’s registration packet and will be given instructions on uploading required documents. Required documents are listed below.

In order to enroll your child, you will need to upload:

2 proofs of address – Con Edison and National Grid utility bills preferred*.
Birth Certificate or Passport.
Your child’s full immunization records. Go HERE for a list of required immunizations.
IEP (if applicable).

(*At least one gas or electric utility bill/welcome letter should be presented. Alternate proofs of address can be a W-2 or payroll receipt dated within the past 60 days, current property tax bill, current water bill, letter from a government agency dated within the past 60 days, co-op/condo papers, insurance, deed, signed lease or mortgage statement.)

Please go to the DOE website’s Kindergarten page to learn more about Kindergarten Admissions and to view the 2020 Kindergarten Admissions Guide.

Contact Parent Coordinator Deb Orr with questions.

NEW ARRIVALS/GRADES 1 -5

For newly arrived families with children in Grades 1 – 5 who live in the 321 school zone and who wish to enroll for the 2020-2021 school year,  we will have registration materials available online later this spring. Please keep an eye on this page for updates, or contact Parent Coordinator Deb Orr with questions. Children can not be registered prior to a move; they must already be in residence at an address zoned for our school. We enroll all zoned students in grades 1 – 5; we do not have a waitlist for in-zone students in those grades. In order to register, families will be required to submit the documents listed above (under Kindergarten Registration), along with their child’s latest report card (optional but recommended).

There will be no in-person registration prior to the beginning of the school year for 2020-2021.

Tour information is unavailable at this time. In previous years, we have always scheduled 2 tours during December. There is no sign-up, they are come-one, come-all. Because our tours are very comprehensive and we do not turn anyone away, we are unable to schedule additional tours or accommodate individual requests.

We do not offer Pre-K instruction.

To check the school zone for an address, please use the “Find a School” search tool on the home page on the Department of Education’s website: schools.nyc.gov.

For more information about school enrollment, please visit the New Student page on schools.nyc.gov or call the DOE Family Welcome Center/Enrollment Office at 718-935-2009.
