Meet the Writers Welcomes Writer/Illustrator Nina Crews to 1st Grade

Again this year, Nina Crews will visit PS 321 to talk to first grade classes. Crews’ work combines photographs and photo collage to create energetic stories about young children. Her bestselling titles include The Neighborhood Mother Goose, One Hot Summer Day (a Sesame Street Parents ‘Kids Hit’ selection) and Below (an ALA Notable Selection, along with Mother Goose). Her latest include I’m Not Small, the story of a preschooler’s first solo adventure in his backyard, and Not Done Yet: Shirley Chisholm’s Fight for Change (a Kirkus Best Book of 2022). Her next book, Extraordinary Magic: Virginia Hamilton’s Storytelling Life will be published in January 2024.
