| Kids will learn about amazing trees and delicious weeds outdoors! They learn to recognize and help native and endangered plants, grow and bring home delicious greens and explore the coolest plants, animals, and fungi in the great outdoors. We grow mushrooms, make plant-based sprays and identify edible, invasive and poisonous plants. When weather permits, we will also walk to, learn about, and work on neighborhood trees, community gardens and neighborhood green spaces. Kids will get really dirty and they will love it!|
We intend to be outdoors - (Prospect Park, Von King Park, Ft. Greene Park, school gardens, community gardens, etc... depending on the school and its proximity to green spaces) as much and as often as possible. This includes hot, cold, windy, snowy and drizzly weather. This is mainly a 1st grade - 7th grade program, but every school is different . We may be able to accommodate pre-K and Kindergarten at schools where we are primarily going to be gardening in an enclosed school garden.
We suggest signing up with a buddy or buddies (a pod) so your child is not in an unfamiliar group. We make every effort to keep the same schools, pods, classroom buddies and age groups together. We offer limited pick-ups at schools, including PS 321, United/PS 305, PS 133, PS 118, PS 9, PS 39 and PS 282.

|Brooklyn Robot Foundry||Brooklyn Robot Foundry really knows how to get the fun flying. And driving, spinning, lighting up, shaking, - you get the idea! Join us in-person and online for after school classes, summer programs, school holidays, parties, school residencies and more. |
We lead children in building really cool robots, teaching them the fundamentals of engineering along the way. Each of our programs offer cool themes and unique robot projects, which children take home afterwards for more fun. By pairing real electronics with kid-friendly materials and our signature approach to building, kids of all ages are able to make amazing projects with us. And let’s not forget the creativity - each child’s imaginative design is an integral piece in bringing these whimsical designs to life!
We welcome all learners and maintain a very low student-to-teacher ratio to assure plenty of individualized attention. Our full-day and summer programs further expand on the themes with games, crafts, and other fun throughout the day. We also enjoy outings to nearby parks whenever weather permits. By giving kids the opportunity to create, the skills to make, and the self-confidence to start, we are empowering them to embrace their limitlessness. That, and we just have a ton of fun!

The Coding Space
|The Coding Space is an after school and summer enrichment program where students learn to tackle challenges independently through learning to code. In our classrooms, students learn entirely through creating projects, allowing them to work on their critical thinking and problem solving skills while simultaneously picking up the hard skills of coding. By challenging students at their individual level to create projects as unique as they are, we underscore the power of personalized learning. And with our small student-to-teacher ratio and Socratic-based teaching methods, students get the guidance they need to keep moving forward while developing their inner critical voice.||Wednesday, Thursdays, and Saturdays during the year and Weekly Summer Camps|

|Biocitizen Our Place Summer School||Biocitizen's Our Place Summerschool sessions consist of five day-long Field Environmental Philosophy walks that bring students (age 8-12) into direct contact with essential aspects of NYC’s identity. At the beginning of the day, teachers raise a question to launch the quest, and then we’re off on our treasure hunt, hunting/gathering detectives looking for clues to solve the day’s mystery. Students exercise, perceive, share stories and background knowledge together, and have fun experimenting with a way of reading the world called eco-semiotics. They learn their "place" in our place, the most vivacious and fascinating city on earth!|
Each session we attempt to bring students to sites of first human inhabitation and then work forward to the present moment. This happens recursively and nonlinear-ily; we establish motivs and return and depart them as our environments and attention spans change. We also follow the weather instead of a rigid pre-planned schedule. Our weekly beach exploration happens on the best beach day. The evening before a class you’ll receive an email with an itinerary, that is best suited to the next day’s weather.
Our week will likely include:
visits to sites where First Contact is documented
rivers, waterways, beaches, estuaries
flora and fauna
critical infrastructures (water, sanitation, electrical)
landmark parks and cemeteries
remarkable cultural nodes
encounters with historians, artists, conservationists, government officials

The Soap Box Workshop encourages children ages 7-14 to think outside the box. Children plan their inventions using sketches and calculations, bringing them to life with found and recycled objects as well as building materials. Over the course of the workshop, participants turn piles of seemingly useless trash into functional machines while learning about construction and design and, more importantly, having fun.
Leading up to the race, kids test drive their gravity racers, ensuring the safety and functionality of each invention. At the South Slope Derby, participants get to race their cars for real as friends, families, and neighbors cheer them on as they race down the street.
