We lead children in building really cool robots, teaching them the fundamentals of engineering along the way. Each of our programs offer cool themes and unique robot projects, which children take home afterwards for more fun. By pairing real electronics with kid-friendly materials and our signature approach to building, kids of all ages are able to make amazing projects with us. And let’s not forget the creativity - each child’s imaginative design is an integral piece in bringing these whimsical designs to life!

We welcome all learners and maintain a very low student-to-teacher ratio to assure plenty of individualized attention. Our full-day and summer programs further expand on the themes with games, crafts, and other fun throughout the day. We also enjoy outings to nearby parks whenever weather permits. Brooklyn Game Lab
Brooklyn Game Lab offers two great options for the Summer – Indoors (with Park Time) and Totally Outdoors!

For Indoors (with Park Time): Everyday we choose a different tabletop game and spend the morning session learning it, playing it and analyzing game play. After playing, kids record their thoughts on improving or changing the game, present their ideas to a group, talk strategy and hone their design skills.

For the day’s second session, we play our mega-popular “Battle Lab” in Prospect Park. Kids brandish safe, foam weapons - inhabiting characters and enjoying fun, skill-based battles!

In the afternoon it’s on to Dungeons & Dragons back in the Lab. Our kids get a talented “Dungeon Master” who tells a story and lead them on an epic quest.

Totally Outdoors: Our day in Prospect Park is filled with games that are active, strategic, park-tested and unique to Brooklyn Game Lab.
We’ve gained tons of outdoor play experience over the past few years, and know how to get kids playing and socializing while staying safe. Plus we developed dozens of new activities to keep kids active and engaged.

Activities include new, BGL-original physical games involving an arsenal of flying discs, hoops, cones, beanbags, balls and more. Kids have plenty of time for the beloved activity “Battle Lab” as we continue to enhance and re-imagine Battle Lab by combining our new park supplies and our safe, foam weapons.

We also have a wide variety of verbal games played in a socially-distanced circle in the shade. This includes improv activities, storytelling and deduction games.

Trail Blazers
Develop a love for the great outdoors every day, right in your neighborhood. Our outdoor day camp programs in Prospect Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park and Morningside Park help your camper develop an appreciation for the environment while making memories and learning skills to last a lifetime.

Our days are filled with hands-on science experiments, group play and group challenges, team building, nature exploration, art, and lots of singing. More than that, each day your camper will develop their ability to care for themselves, their friends, our community, and the environment.

Our outdoor day camps are designed around small group experiences. Campers enroll into the same small group for the full summer. We believe that challenges are essential to a child’s ability to grow and include team building activities each day. Through these activities, campers learn how to work together, how to problem solve, and in turn build more meaningful relationships with one another.

At KoKo NYC, we believe that all kids are natural inventors! In our workshops, kids explore the intersection of engineering, art and sustainability, learning to take risks, collaborate, and problem solve. We empower kids to explore their own ideas to build worlds of their own making.

This spring we will be picking up from PS 321 and bringing kids to Prospect Park for an Inventor's Lab Workshop. This workshop will take place on Fridays (April 28th-June 16th) from 3:30-5:30 PM.

We are excited to announce 10 weeks of summer workshops at The KoKo Lot (440 19th St. Brooklyn, NY). “The Lot” is our outdoor, sustainable workspace filled with found objects, recycled materials, and all the tools necessary to transform trash into treasure.
Workshops run from 9AM - 2PM with an extended day option available.

This summer we are offering two unique workshops:

Soap Box 2023
Ages: 8-14
1-week camp: $725
In the Soap Box Workshop, kids turn found objects and recycled materials into fully functioning gravity racers. Throughout the week-long workshop kids learn engineering skills and get to express their natural ingenuity in building their cars. At the end of each week, we host a "mini derby" where the kids celebrate a successful week by racing their cars down 20th street. At the annual South Slope Derby, participants get to race their cars for real as friends, families, and neighbors cheer them on.

Camp KoKo 2023
Ages: 5-7
1-week camp: $650
In our outdoor workshop kids engage in hands-on material exploration and building activities. It is specifically designed for kids ages 5-7, where they use recycled and found objects as inspiration to build and play, guided by our Teaching Artist's fun ideas for project themes.

Age For Stage
Think of it:

The moment you did the moon walk and people gathered.
The moment you rocked the interview.
The moment when you knew the everyone in the room was with you.

It all comes from confidence. And it is built here.

All of life’s great moments arrive at that perfect combination of timing and practice. We take that great silly moment where your kid makes you laugh hysterically and the one where they drive you just a little bit nuts and turn it into theater. And when many kids play together, they create something even bigger and more fun.

Art Sports Games Songs Dance

Everything your kid did today.

Come and play!

Single week sessions where your child can write their own lines, create the action, play games and be themselves. Sure, there is a ‘performance’. They will surprise themselves and be a part of something original.

It all happens on its own and that’s the magic of theater.

Camp Chewonki
A nature-based overnight summer camp program for children (boys, girls, non-binary), ages 8-14, and an expedition-based youth leadership program for all genders and skill levels, ages 14-18.

Nestled amongst the pine trees on Maine’s beautiful coastline, our Westside campus on Chewonki Neck is home to Camp Chewonki for Boys and our Eastside campus is home to Camp Chewonki for Girls. We have been providing children opportunities to laugh, learn, and explore in the outdoors since 1915. Campers spend time learning about the natural world, remote travel, making friends, and, most importantly, themselves.

Chewonki campers immerse themselves in fun and educational activities focused on community building, outdoor living skills, natural history, farm and food systems, and watercraft. Additional activity offerings include visual arts, performing arts, woodworking, and archery with opportunities for swimming, sports, and recreation during free time. Essential to the experience is a remote trip to a beautiful corner of Maine where they will develop transferable skills in camping and leadership to prepare them for more advanced leadership expeditions and life beyond their Chewonki summer.

We offer a 3-week full session residential camp program for campers aged 10-14, and a 10-day introduction to overnight camp called the Puffin Program for campers aged 8-10. Our wilderness trips are 3 or 5 weeks.

We celebrate the power of unplugging from ordinary life and plunging into the rivers, lakes, mountains, woods, and coastline of Maine and eastern Canada. Find out what's out there - and what's inside you!
