![]() Penguin Coding School | Penguin Coding School’s unique curriculum emphasizes the joys of creation as the motivation for learning. Penguin offers a variety of in-person and online coding classes during the school year such as Scratch, Minecraft, Roblox, Python, and Lego Robotics. Penguin also has classes for 5 year old's such as Scratch JR and Robotics. In the summertime, the school holds weekly summer programs where students get to make 3D prints, do fun and interactive science experiments, battle Lego robots, and learn how to code! They emphasize the importance of learning at a proper pace, as Free Trial classes are offered in order to determine which class would be the right fit for each individual student. Penguin has four total locations, including two in NY and two in MA. For New York, we have locations in Park Slope and Cobble Hill. Penguin offers after-school pickup for both of their NY locations, which will be listed below. Besides being the most fun that kids can have exercising, Brooklyn Ninja Academy promotes discipline, focus, and behavioral development. Ninja training is for any skill level, and fosters kids’ growth and improvement, while they’re having the time of their lives. Ninjas 6 to 13 years old are separated by age group for training. Lessons are taught by certified ninja coaches, some of whom have been featured on the show! Coaches and students have even competed on American Ninja Warrior Junior. A 10-week progressive program teaches participants how to overcome ninja warrior obstacles by analyzing, approaching, and conquering obstacles, mimicking the movement and strategy of those on the show. Ninjas learn new skills and techniques for climbing, swinging, agility, balance, and strength. Kids gain confidence as they master each obstacle, increase their skill level, and become ready to take on the next progression. ![]() | Brooklyn Robot Foundry really knows how to get the fun flying. And driving, spinning, lighting up, shaking, - you get the idea! Join us in-person and online for after school classes, summer programs, school holidays, parties, school residencies and more. We lead children in building really cool robots, teaching them the fundamentals of engineering along the way. Each of our programs offer cool themes and unique robot projects, which children take home afterwards for more fun. By pairing real electronics with kid-friendly materials and our signature approach to building, kids of all ages are able to make amazing projects with us. And let’s not forget the creativity - each child’s imaginative design is an integral piece in bringing these whimsical designs to life! We welcome all learners and maintain a very low student-to-teacher ratio to assure plenty of individualized attention. Our full-day and summer programs further expand on the themes with games, crafts, and other fun throughout the day. We also enjoy outings to nearby parks whenever weather permits. CinemaKidz is a Brooklyn-based youth arts STEAM program, offering children ages 5 -15 the opportunity to explore the world of film, animation, and media arts. Children who take a CK program and camp often realize passions they never knew existed. ![]() | Brooklyn Acting Lab’s Summer Programs serve children who are Rising Kindergarten (entering Kindergarten in Fall 2023) through Rising 8th (entering 8th Grade in Fall 2023). ![]() MAKE IT! Studio | We are a Park Slope based fashion, sewing and crafts studio with a creative after school and camp program for kids ages 7 to 13. Using a sewing machine (no experience necessary), and tons of fun materials, your child will MAKE hip clothes, accessories, plushies and plenty more! We have a maximum of 9 children at a time, so they can get the proper attention they need. We encourage individual thinking and creativity by letting our students have the freedom to create their designs. ![]() Brooklyn Game Lab | Brooklyn Game Lab offers two great options for the Summer – Indoors (with Park Time) and Totally Outdoors! For Indoors (with Park Time): Everyday we choose a different tabletop game and spend the morning session learning it, playing it and analyzing game play. After playing, kids record their thoughts on improving or changing the game, present their ideas to a group, talk strategy and hone their design skills. For the day’s second session, we play our mega-popular “Battle Lab” in Prospect Park. Kids brandish safe, foam weapons - inhabiting characters and enjoying fun, skill-based battles! In the afternoon it’s on to Dungeons & Dragons back in the Lab. Our kids get a talented “Dungeon Master” who tells a story and lead them on an epic quest. In our workshops, kids explore the intersection of engineering, art and sustainability, learning to take risks, collaborate, and problem solve. We empower kids to explore their own ideas to build worlds of their own making. This spring we will be picking up from PS 321 and bringing kids to Prospect Park for an Inventor's Lab Workshop. This workshop will take place on Fridays (April 28th-June 16th) from 3:30-5:30 PM. We are excited to announce 10 weeks of summer workshops at The KoKo Lot (440 19th St. Brooklyn, NY). “The Lot” is our outdoor, sustainable workspace filled with found objects, recycled materials, and all the tools necessary to transform trash into treasure. Workshops run from 9AM - 2PM with an extended day option available. This summer we are offering two unique workshops: Soap Box 2023 Ages: 8-14 1-week camp: $725 In the Soap Box Workshop, kids turn found objects and recycled materials into fully functioning gravity racers. Throughout the week-long workshop kids learn engineering skills and get to express their natural ingenuity in building their cars. At the end of each week, we host a "mini derby" where the kids celebrate a successful week by racing their cars down 20th street. Nestled amongst the pine trees on Maine’s beautiful coastline, our Westside campus on Chewonki Neck is home to Camp Chewonki for Boys and our Eastside campus is home to Camp Chewonki for Girls. We have been providing children opportunities to laugh, learn, and explore in the outdoors since 1915. Campers spend time learning about the natural world, remote travel, making friends, and, most importantly, themselves. ![]() Camp WA WA Segowea | Camp WA WA Segowea provides rustic, unplugged overnight youth programming for campers ages 8-16 and their families. Overnight campers enjoy life in a lake-side valley with daily options including swimming, boating, arts and crafts, pottery, hiking, archery and daily big camp games and challenges! Nestled in 450 acres of pristine forest in the Berkshire Mountains, the WA WA overnight camp program is over 100 years old and gives youth the chance to unwind and have fun in a supportive, inclusive community.
