Brooklyn Game Lab
|Brooklyn Game Lab offers two great options for the Summer – Indoors (with Park Time) and Totally Outdoors!|
For Indoors (with Park Time): Everyday we choose a different tabletop game and spend the morning session learning it, playing it and analyzing game play. After playing, kids record their thoughts on improving or changing the game, present their ideas to a group, talk strategy and hone their design skills.
For the day’s second session, we play our mega-popular “Battle Lab” in Prospect Park. Kids brandish safe, foam weapons - inhabiting characters and enjoying fun, skill-based battles!
In the afternoon it’s on to Dungeons & Dragons back in the Lab. Our kids get a talented “Dungeon Master” who tells a story and lead them on an epic quest.
Totally Outdoors: Our day in Prospect Park is filled with games that are active, strategic, park-tested and unique to Brooklyn Game Lab.
We’ve gained tons of outdoor play experience over the past few years, and know how to get kids playing and socializing while staying safe. Plus we developed dozens of new activities to keep kids active and engaged.
Activities include new, BGL-original physical games involving an arsenal of flying discs, hoops, cones, beanbags, balls and more. Kids have plenty of time for the beloved activity “Battle Lab” as we continue to enhance and re-imagine Battle Lab by combining our new park supplies and our safe, foam weapons.
We also have a wide variety of verbal games played in a socially-distanced circle in the shade. This includes improv activities, storytelling and deduction games.

|Develop a love for the great outdoors every day, right in your neighborhood. Our outdoor day camp programs in Prospect Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park and Morningside Park help your camper develop an appreciation for the environment while making memories and learning skills to last a lifetime.|
Our days are filled with hands-on science experiments, group play and group challenges, team building, nature exploration, art, and lots of singing. More than that, each day your camper will develop their ability to care for themselves, their friends, our community, and the environment.
Our outdoor day camps are designed around small group experiences. Campers enroll into the same small group for the full summer. We believe that challenges are essential to a child’s ability to grow and include team building activities each day. Through these activities, campers learn how to work together, how to problem solve, and in turn build more meaningful relationships with one another.

Nestled amongst the pine trees on Maine’s beautiful coastline, our Westside campus on Chewonki Neck is home to Camp Chewonki for Boys and our Eastside campus is home to Camp Chewonki for Girls. We have been providing children opportunities to laugh, learn, and explore in the outdoors since 1915. Campers spend time learning about the natural world, remote travel, making friends, and, most importantly, themselves.
Chewonki campers immerse themselves in fun and educational activities focused on community building, outdoor living skills, natural history, farm and food systems, and watercraft. Additional activity offerings include visual arts, performing arts, woodworking, and archery with opportunities for swimming, sports, and recreation during free time. Essential to the experience is a remote trip to a beautiful corner of Maine where they will develop transferable skills in camping and leadership to prepare them for more advanced leadership expeditions and life beyond their Chewonki summer.
We offer a 3-week full session residential camp program for campers aged 10-14, and a 10-day introduction to overnight camp called the Puffin Program for campers aged 8-10. Our wilderness trips are 3 or 5 weeks.
We celebrate the power of unplugging from ordinary life and plunging into the rivers, lakes, mountains, woods, and coastline of Maine and eastern Canada. Find out what's out there - and what's inside you!
