Lunch
At PS 321, staff and parents work with School Food Management to make sure fresh fruits, vegetables and other healthy options are offered in our cafeteria. The lunchroom is proud to feature a salad bar which promotes our student’s healthy eating habits.
This year, we have multiple lunch periods to accommodate all students. Students in fourth and fifth grades may “go out to lunch” for Independent Lunch on select days (see below) with written parental permission. Independent Lunch starts during the second to third month of school.

*On half days when dismissal is at 11:50, only children who get school lunch go to the lunchroom and then return to their classroom.
If your child forgets lunch, you may bring it to the main office (labeled with name and class number).
Have fun and get out of the house during your own lunch break – volunteer at 321 during lunch and recess! Lunchroom volunteers interact with the children and are crucial to the smooth functioning of lunch and recess time.
Lunch/Recess Periods Volunteers:
- Help kids open lunch contents, give them guidance in the lunchroom, help pack up and gather belongings, assist in trash sorting, and smooth the transition to the next group of diners.
- Help to ensure children play safely in the yard.

Breakfast
Did you know our cafeteria offers a free, healthy breakfast and lunch to ALL students?
For breakfast, just have your child come between 8:00 – 8:15 am to allow time to eat and get to class.
Please Complete Our School Lunch Form Online
The Family Income Form School Lunch Form is used to track the percentage of children who qualify for free or reduced lunch (FRL) in school. It is important to submit even if you know your child does not qualify (accurate reporting is how we keep lunch free for all children in New York Public Schools).
Please fill out the form online via myschoolapps.com not on paper if at all possible. Our district is New York City.
Despite the warning on the website, IF you are certain you don’t qualify, it is OK to select the option “I do not wish to provide household information” before submitting the form. Returned paper forms will have to be manually input by our school staff, so please go online to complete your form!
