You may have seen messages lately about Spring Carnival. However, if you have a child in 2nd grade or younger, you may be wondering —What is Spring Carnival?
Last held in 2019, Spring Carnival is a PS321 tradition that is a fun, joyful, slightly chaotic celebration at the school involving games, inflatables in the yard, face painting, concessions, prizes and craft activities.
Kids adore it! They are able to run around with their friends and are always so proud to be showing off their school.
It is open to not only our school community, but our neighbors as well. Parents, students, alumni and local middle and high school students help work the different stations. Local camps and businesses often help run activities. It’s a true community event!
In order to put such a big event together, we need a great deal of help. Putting the Spring Carnival together is always a heroic feat, but it is made doable for mere mortals when more people are involved.
We hope you will consider pitching in! Given that this is a reboot two years in the making, those who help out can help update this beloved tradition with their own ideas. In short – we need you!
Yes, the Spring Carnival has also traditionally been a valuable fundraiser for the PTA to raise much needed funds for the programs our kids benefit from daily, but it is also a gift to our students and community.
After what our kids have been through the past two years, the Spring Carnival is much needed! We hope that you will put Saturday, April 30th in your calendar and will spend at least part of your day at the Carnival.
Email Amy Tully if you can help us plan this event, or sign up for Spring Carnival on our Volunteer Form if you are interested in day-of volunteer opportunities.
